Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Tickets are now on sale for the 2016 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and also the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. I have had a lot of questions about these awesome events, so I wanted to share some thoughts and photos from my time at the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party that I attended last September (2015).

Entering the park we were handed a  Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party park map and also a bag for candy! The park map had the places to collect candy marked, I wasn't with my kids this night so I collected candy to take home to them :)

If you are a BIG Halloween fan like me you are going to LOVE this event!

I am not huge on dressing up so I grabbed these Halloween Mickey ears at the hotel gift ship before I jumped on the monorail to head over to the party.

If you do plan on dressing up make sure you check out the costume guidelines for the event nights!

I only had my camera on my phone that night, so I apologize for the photos not being fantastic but this parade, Mickey’s “Boo-To-You” Halloween Parade,  was hands down my favorite parade I have seen at Disney World, it starts with the Headless Horseman and is followed by fright friendly floats. I LOVED the Halloween theme and music!

The event also had some party exclusives, I picked up this Pin and Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Card (This was actually one request from my kids ;) )

My favorite photo from the night....

Here is some info on this years upcoming event nights for anyone visiting during this time. Unfortunately this year I will not be at Disney World until November so I will miss out but next year I plan to visit again for the Halloween Party.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returns for 29 nights of spooktacular fun beginning Sept. 2, featuring encore performances of last year’s new hit show “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular.”

Plus, the team that brought the Sanderson Sisters back for Halloween is hard at work on another new show for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. “Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration” will make its debut for the 2016 holiday season. In this all-new show, Mickey and his pals invite some of their friends for an unforgettable Christmas party filled with music, dancing, color and fun. Your Clients can look forward to seeing Woody and Jessie from “Toy Story,” Fantasyland friends such as Peter Pan and Snow White, and many more.

Presented on the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage, this new show features special effects, magical projections and festive holiday music.

Tickets are on sale now for 2016 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Ticket prices are as follows:

  • Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party – Advance ticket prices starting at $72 for adults and $67 for children (3-9).

Disney's Old Key West Resort

Here are some photos from Disney's Old Key West Resort, my husband took these photos early January when he was down for runDisneys Marathon weekend.

We have stayed here a few times and absolutely love it. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are generally larger then most other resorts and my kids LOVE the sand castle water slide.

The sit down restaurant, Olivia’s Cafe , is wonderful. We really enjoy the laid back atmosphere and have had a few lovely family meals here. One thing to note is that the counter service, Good's Food to Go,  seating is located outside,  we really enjoy the picnic tables for a fun lunch when hanging by the pool but in cooler weather have taken our meal to our room.

There is also a boat ride to Disney Springs which is super convenient and my kids love the boat ride as if it was another Disney attraction ride ; ) For the rest of the Disney parks there are buses available.

There is also a golf course that goes throughout the resort which makes for some lovely room views.

If you have any questions about this hotel (or any others) send me an email at kim@puremagicvacations.ca

"It's a Small World" Holiday - Disneyland.

I wanted to share a few photos from the "It's a Small World" ride in Disneyland. I took these photos last November when we visiting. This was my families first time on this "holiday" version of the ride and I must say it was amazing. We actually went on a few times because we just enjoyed it so much. It was quite different then the Disney World version this we are used to.

Disney's Art of Animation

Earlier this month when I attended the first Canadian Earmarked Agent Education Program at Walt Disney World in Florida I had the pleasure of touring Disney's Art of Animation Resort hotel. Disney's Art of Animation is in the value category and has four themed wings; Cars, Finding Nemo, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid.

Here are a few of the photos I took along the tour.....

We ate lunch at the hotels counter service restaurant - Landscape of Flavors.

One of the fantastic benefits at this hotel is the option for larger families to stay in a suite. You can see a room layout hereFamily suites include a bedroom with one queen-size bed; one double-size convertible TableBed; one double-size sleeper sofa; living room; 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette - They can accommodate up to 6 people.

Here are a couple photos I took in a Finding Nemo suite...

Disney Kids Races - Wine and Dine 2014

It seems like forever since we have been back from our family vacation in early November. There has been so much snow here in Guelph that Bryan and I are wishing we were back south! My kids on the other hand are loving playing outside making snow angels and sledding down the hills at recess. Usually when we get home from our November trip we have a couple weeks before being thrown into full blown winter but not this year!!

This was the first year everyone in our family participated in Run Disney Wine and Dine weekend races during our trip. This would be the third year the kids have done the kids races, and last year Bryan did the 5K. This year Bryan did the Wine and Dine half, making it his first half marathon, I did the 5K and both kids did kids races.. It was a really busy day! BUT AWESOME to say the least!

The morning started with me going to the Jingle Jungle 5K which you can read about in my last blog post. From there we went back to our resort to get breakfast, which was sort of an epic fail, the counter service was crazy busy and we didn't realize how little time we would have (Seeing as I took my time in the 5K taking pictures, etc) so we ended up getting cereals, yogurts and granola to go and ate in the car. Totally fine but next year I think I will plan that out a little better.

Once we got to the Kids races the kids started to get excited. Graydon wanted me to go with him so I took him to the 200m dash  line and Bryan took Dexter to the 100m dash line. This year I was the first year I wasn't sure if I should still run with Graydon, instead of getting him from the finish line, I think next year I may let him run on his own.

I told Graydon to run ahead if he wanted to and I would catch up, after pacing myself slower in the 5K I was not ready for the DASH speed Graydon had, haha, so I just met him at the finish line.

The best part for me was seeing him give Duffy a high five at the ending of the race and keep running to the finish line, it was adorable!

Unfortunately because I was with Graydon I did not get to see much of Dexter in his race, Bryan did take a video... The funny thing was that Dexter was running so great until Bryan said "Run to Duffy" without thinking about how Dexter is slightly terrified of the characters,  as soon as he said it Dexter looked around, stopped and sat down! HAHA! Bryan had to pick him up to finish the race! I still think he did pretty good for a 2 year old :)

The kids both were very excited to get their medals... And Dexter was especially excited for the banana at the end of the race, HA!

We are already planning for next year! Graydon may do the Mickey Mile instead of a dash, I think he would like the longer race.

All in all it was a great morning!

Disney's Wine and Dine Expo 2014

Today my family went to Disney's Wine and Dine Expo.

Bryan and Dexter (my husband and my 2 year old) went early to get in line for RunDisney New Balance shoes. My 5 year old and I went later to meet them, we took the bus from the Polynesian resort, there were no busses to the expo from our resort this year.

Once we got there Graydon and I took a couple photos..

This one is a little off centre (5 year old photography lol)
