In January I toured Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. It was the first time I had seen the Little Mermaid section and rooms in person. I loved the area far more than I expected. I have told many people that this is the furthest section from the main area of the resort. This section is also the only area with standard rooms. I expected the walk to be much longer, that said I am not sure I would want to do the walk in the blistering hot summer.
Here is a map of the resort to get an idea, see how The Little Mermaid section is to the far left.
Here are a couple photos on the walk to The Little Mermaid section.
The main pool looks very fun!
To get to The Little Mermaid section we walked through The Lion King section, I loved this theme. All the rooms in this section are suites.

The pool in this area was lovely.
The Disney Skyliner Gondola system is not yet up and running but here is a photo from the Little Mermaid Section while I was there. This is the bridge adjoining Disney’s Art of Animation and Disney’s Pop Century. Another reason to stay here!
I really enjoyed The Little Mermaid section, I actually liked it a lot more than I thought I would from photos I had seen.
Here are a few points worth mentioning.
This resort is a value hotel at Walt Disney World, meaning that there is no water-slide at this hotel. The bus pick up has one location which is the front of the hotel - the furthest point from The Little Mermaid section. The room was also quite small - 277 square feet.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone with children that love The Little Mermaid. It is a great location for a budget resort that is very clean and cheerful. If you do not mind the small walk it is a lovely place to stay and really fun Disney themed!
